an ancient proverb, possibly written by a proto-planner

I’ve encountered several versions of a proverb that I like very much. I heard it again in a meeting yesterday with Millward Brown. Here is my favourite version:

“Tell me and I will forget, show me and I may remember, involve me and I will understand.”

It’s variously attributed to Native Americans, Chinese and Indian sources on the internet. Don’t you simply love online source attribution?
