The move into movie and TV rental is a logical development, but this space is already very competitive in both the USA and the UK. Analysts reported in the press over the weekend have commented that they doubt this will add much profit opportunity to Apple. But Apple TV now gains some useful functionality.

The Apple Store in Covent Garden, London, was a buzz on Friday evening. But the new iPods weren’t due to make their appearance just yet.

I’m looking forward to the improvements in the Apple OS offered on the iPhone and iPod Touch, including the enhanced games support. The new social media addition to iTunes is also interesting, if a little late to market.
